Mundane to Miraculous

On a day-to-day basis, our lives have a certain way they normally go. Whether there is a strict schedule you stick to or not, most things happen in a similar way. For example: during the week you may have school or work; something that happens in a certain time frame each week. Sometimes, we have pretty mundane, or ordinary, lives.

Sometimes we tend to stick to those schedules without making time for the most important thing: spending time with God. We zoom through our days just cramming in a few minutes of Bible reading or even telling ourselves we don’t really need to read it. Shame on us. Think about this…

God is just as willing to meet you in the mundane as he is in the miraculous.

While looking up the word “miraculous” this is what I came up with:

Miraculous: occurring through divine or supernatural intervention or manifesting such power; highly improbable and extraordinary; astounding, remarkable, incredible.

Doesn’t that mean that we aren’t to ordinary for an extraordinary, remarkable God? God IS a miraculous God, and while our lives aren’t always miraculous and exciting, he’s willing to meet us in the mundane; but still, we often refuse to make time for him.

Maybe we often wonder why our lives don’t seem miraculous to us. After all, we do have God in us, right? He is a miraculous God, right? Maybe we haven’t tried hard enough to make time for him, or maybe we’ve tried too hard. Do you make time for Jesus, or are you too busy? Maybe, in your mind, God is too big and miraculous for your ordinary life.

You realize that Jesus thinks we are to die for. He LOVED our ordinary selves so much, that he took his life to the cross. I believe, he might DESIRE to spend a little time each day with us. We aren’t miraculous, we never can be in and of ourselves, but through Him he can do miraculous things. We can’t go through life without him, expecting to do something great without seeking him; but when we choose to let him have control, we are giving him our heart and allowing him to do miraculous things with our lives. I would not be where I am in my life without the MIRACULOUS working of his hand.

How do we let him have full control?

  • submit our lives to Him.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

If we start with yielding our lives to Him, we are one step closer to letting God do miraculous things in our lives. In doing so we are resisting the devil, and the more we resist him, he will eventually flee from us.

  • draw nigh to God.

Why? Because, then, he will draw nigh to us. The closer we get to Christ, the closer he gets to us. The more we desire to spend time with him, the more time we set aside for Him. The easier it gets to wake up and run straight to him with a rested mind, and the easier it is to fall asleep at peace about your worries because you took them all to him.

James 4:8 a Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Friends, I want to encourage you, don’t try to do it on your own because, spoiler alert, you can’t. Let God have the number one spot in your life. Run to him in the morning, afternoon, and night. He wants to be able to do miraculous things in your life. Let him.

all my love and prayers, Ashley Violet ❤
